Dear Comrades,
We send you our warmest fraternal greetings, and salute you on the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Popular Front of the Liberation Palestine. Your steadfastness and courage in the face of cruel and dangerous oppressors is an inspiration to people across the globe, including here in the United States. We are confident that the next 40 years will bring still more victories over imperialism and Zionism, and the compete liberation of every inch of Palestine.
Your 40th anniversary comes at a moment when U.S. imperialism and its Zionist puppets are facing setbacks and defeats in Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle east. The occupation of Iraq is crumbling; the patriotic forces of Lebanon faced down the Israeli invaders; and the people of Palestine have raised a powerful banner of resistance. The spirit of sacrifice and the many accomplishments of the PFLP are truly a standard by which greatness can be measured.
We greatly value the militant friendship between our organizations and will work to strengthen it in the coming years. We will continue our work to end the occupation of Palestine and U.S. support for Israel, and to demand freedom for your imprisoned General Secretary Ahmad Saadat.
For the past 40 years the PFLP has courageously traveled a road that will lead to a free Palestine. Israel lives on stolen land and borrowed time. And time is never on the side of the oppressor.
The heroic struggle of the Palestinian people and the PFLP is a source of hope to all working and oppressed people. We wish you every success in the coming years.
